Not To Miss!

Dear followers,

With the rain poring nearly non-stop since yesterday and temperatures near the 10 degrees on a 22nd of May, I feel quite demotivated in terms of fashion and outfits as I am under the impression that I have been wearing the same things for nearly 8 months and never know what items to choose in the morning as these days you never know what the weather will bring… So, I have decided to escape that grey atmosphere and bring you along through an exhibition I would have loved to visit if only I were in Paris!!!

You certainly heard about Monumenta at the Grand Palais. Since 2007, the well-known art institution has invited renowned contemporary artists to occupy their enormous space called “The Nef” for a few weeks time, thus giving the opportunity to these artists to express their art in this spectacular environment… Over the years artists such as Richard Serra, Christian Boltanski and Anish Kapoor have amazed visitors by their own way of occupying this space…

This year it’s Daniel Buren’s turn (10.05-21.06) and who better equipped to such a task than an artist who has always put at the core of his work the relation between the work itself and its environment. From the streets to the gallery walls, Daniel Buren’s artwork becomes intrinsically linked with its surroundings, challenging the way we look at the world around us, revealing and concealing, to make us look with a fresh eye… With one of his cherish motifs of minimalist appearance, the stripes, the artist literally metamorphosis the viewers perception through his work, thus the world and the art piece take a complete new meaning due to their interaction. Having said that, you will surely understand why his Monumenta exhibition is bond to be spectacular….

If you are lucky enough to be in Paris right now, do not miss it!
