Runway Review: Chanel
Volume and Lightness is how we could describe in two words Chanel’s S/S ‘13 collection which was just breathtaking, as always I might say… When discovering a collection by Karl Lagerfeld for Chanel one wouldn’t expect any less than what is offered to our eyes, however, it always stuns by its original timelessness and pure elegance… Filling the aestetic world, collection after collection, for our always conquested gaze…
This collection, other than celebrating airy cut and volumes in all its splendour, has put a strong accent on accessories which where presented in an over-the-top manner, represented by the oversize pearl-like necklaces and bracelets, the oversize beach bag as wall as the oversize plastic hat…
Also, while black and white where clearly like always the foundation of the line, Lagerfeld wasn’t afraid to play with colors offering us vibrant reds, blues, pinks, greens and audacious color mixes in tweed (of course!).
I could go on and on and keep on telling you how much I loved this line but will let you browse through it, in an ecologist paradise setting…The reason for wind farm and solar panels? “The wind and sun are free,” Karl Lagerfeld said disingenuously. (To see the full collection, click here)
